Job summary

Reardon Yacht Consulting in Fort Lauderdale seeks a Head of Crew Placement to lead the department and grow its footprint. Qualifications

• Three+ years in yacht crew recruitment, with some leadership experience.
• Hands-on experience aboard a yacht or with a brokerage/management firm.
• Sales capability, converting conversations into clients.
• Strong knowledge of crew roles and certification requirements.
• Discretion and excellent written/spoken communication.
• Excellent organizational skills to run multiple searches.

Reardon Yacht Consulting is an independent, family-owned superyacht management firm based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We like to say our business is "a lot about yachts, but more about people," and we believe yachting should be enjoyable, not complicated. Our Crew Placement department connects our managed fleet and private clients with exceptional crew, carefully matched to each yacht and the people on board.

THE ROLE

We are looking for a Head of Crew Placement to lead the department and shape its growth. Reporting to our President and the Director of Finance, you will combine hands-on recruitment across every onboard department, from captain to galley, with a real focus on winning new business.

We will lead a small, close-knit team that is collaborative rather than competitive. Recruiters often work the same search together or divide assignments by workload, and they share responsibility for the outcome. We are looking for someone who leads in that spirit.

This role is based full-time in our Fort Lauderdale office.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Lead and support the Crew Placement team, own the department’s processes and reporting, and keep senior leadership informed on performance and priorities.
• Manage searches from first brief to placement, agreeing the full requirements, including package and cruising program, with the hiring party.
• Advertise roles and source candidates through Yotspot, Crelate, referrals, and your own industry network.
• Interview and assess candidates for technical ability and fit with the yacht’s culture and program, with thorough certificate and reference checks.
• Present shortlists and guide both sides through interviews and offers, then hand successful placements over to Crew Management and Accounting.
• Stay in touch with placed crew and their captains to support long-term retention, keep our systems accurate, and handle candidate data in line with GDPR.
• Represent RYC at boat shows and crew events, presenting our crew placement services to prospective clients.
• Grow our private client base and turn successful placements into repeat business.
• Build strong working relationships with our yacht managers so that Crew Placement is the natural first call for the managed fleet.
• Partner with Marketing on job promotion and industry content.
  

WHAT YOU BRING

• Essential: At least three years of recruitment experience in yacht crew placement, along with some experience leading others.
• Recent, hands-on experience working aboard a yacht or within a yacht brokerage or management company.
• Real confidence in a sales setting. You are comfortable approaching people on a boat show floor and turning conversations into clients.
• A solid grasp of crew roles and certification requirements.
• Sound judgment and discretion, with excellent written and spoken communication.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to run several searches at once.
• Familiarity with recruitment platforms such as Crelate, Yotspot, and Monday.com is a plus.
