Job summary

Palisades Tahoe, part of Alterra Mountain Company, seeks a Social Media & Content Manager to lead content planning and social media across channels. You will set editorial direction for photo, video, and written content, guiding what we create and how it reaches guests.

You will mentor the Social Media & Content Coordinator and Photo and Video Specialist, using audience insights and performance data to tell stories that engage guests and support product choices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years in content strategy, production, or editorial publishing.
• Experience creating content plans from audience insights and business goals.
• Experience using performance data to improve results.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee the resort's content strategy aligned with brand goals.
• Turn audience insights into editorial plans for content creation.
• Set production priorities with marketing for cross-channel content.
• Provide clear creative briefs with audience, story, and usage.
• Lead storytelling reflecting Palisades Tahoe's character and culture.
• Build recurring content series and a consistent publishing calendar.
• Collaborate with Photo and Video Specialist to maximize production value.
• Lead social media strategy across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, etc.
• Work with mountain operations to share accurate guest information.
• Partner with product/channel owners to drive visits or purchases.
• Lead community engagement across social channels.
• Establish content performance measures linked to engagement, traffic, and purchases.
• Use reporting to improve decisions; share findings with the marketing team.
• Manage and mentor the Social Media & Content Coordinator.
• Manage and mentor the Photo and Video Specialist.
• Oversee contracted photographers/videographers within budgets and timelines.
• Collaborate with athletes, creators, and contributors for fresh perspectives.
• Oversee content library, assets, and usage permissions.
