Job summary

Nevell Group (NGi) is seeking an experienced Director of Safety to lead the company-wide safety program across projects and locations in California. You will report to the Risk Manager and direct the Safety Department, establishing strategy, standards, and a robust safety culture.

You will partner with Operations, Project Management, Field Supervision, and Executive Leadership to oversee training, incident response, workers’ compensation coordination, safety documentation, and company-wide

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of progressive construction safety experience with leadership experience.
• Experience across multiple projects and locations.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, Cal/OSHA and DIR regulations.
• Proven ability to lead safety teams and improve metrics.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Safety Department and establish company-wide goals and procedures.
• Develop and manage company-wide Safety Training Program and trainings for OSHA/DOT regulations.
• Coordinate field safety across projects, review JHAs and site safety plans.
• Maintain regulatory compliance, policy updates, and risk management activities.
• Oversee incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Track safety metrics and produce monthly executive reports; drive continuous improvement.
