Job summary

Ellaway Blues Consulting in Texas is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a small team of computational engineers. Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Physics, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong background in computational materials engineering within an industrial environment.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical programs and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of computational engineers, providing both technical and people leadership.
• Define the computational modelling strategy across a broad portfolio of materials and manufacturing development projects.
• Develop and apply ICME methodologies to model metallurgical systems and manufacturing processes.
• Apply computational methods including thermodynamic modelling, materials informatics, machine learning, atomistic simulations, CFD, molten metal modelling and image-based microstructure analysis.
• Collaborate with experimental engineers to integrate modelling with laboratory and pilot-scale development activities.
• Develop process‑structure‑property models to optimize manufacturing performance and accelerate technology development.
• Manage multiple technical projects, ensuring priorities align with wider business objectives.
• Collaborate with universities, national laboratories and strategic partners on applied research initiatives.
