Qualifications

• Master's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in compliance, risk management, or internal audit in the financial services sector.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant South African financial regulations (FICA, POPIA, Companies Act).
• Proven experience developing and implementing effective compliance programs and risk frameworks.
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities.
• Based in or willing to commute to Welkom, Free State (hybrid work possible).

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain a robust compliance and risk management program.
• Ensure adherence to all applicable financial laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Conduct regular risk assessments, identify potential vulnerabilities, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Oversee the development and implementation of internal controls and policies.
• Manage regulatory examinations and audits, acting as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies.
• Lead and develop the compliance and risk management team.
• Provide expert advice and guidance to senior management on compliance and risk-related matters.
• Investigate potential compliance breaches and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver compliance training programs to employees.
• Monitor changes in the regulatory landscape and update policies and procedures accordingly.
