Klaviyo is hiring a Head of Comp to redesign how we pay and reward our teams in a scalable, data-driven way. You will own the comp architecture, set equity models and burn-rate targets, and partner with Finance, Talent Acquisition, and leadership to align compensation with strategy.

This role focuses on building a transparent, defensible framework that supports recruiting, retention, and growth across US locations. You will lead with AI-enabled data tools to automate analyses and reporting.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in compensation with real ownership of comp strategy and structure at a growth-stage company — not just cycle administration.
• Overhauled a comp function or framework before — leveling, market pricing, or philosophy — not just maintained one you inherited.
• Deep fluency with modern comp tools and data sources (market pricing platforms, pay equity analytics, compensation management systems) — you've actually used them hands-on.
• A track record designing comp structures that hold up under scrutiny: defensible, explainable, and equitable.
• A track record navigating tense comp conversations — comp disputes, promotion denials, retention counters — with solutions that hold up, not just policy citations.
• You work closely with Talent Acquisition, Finance, and business leaders — comp touches everyone, and you know how to translate between all of them
• Experience with pay transparency practices and the regulatory landscape around them.

Responsibilities

• Write the playbook for comp architecture from the ground up, setting a scalable standard.
• Own multi-year equity modeling, refresh design, and burn rate against plan with Finance and Leadership.
• Be the trusted partner leaders call when conversations get hard, delivering creative, policy-grounded solutions.
• Define requirements for market data ingestion, pay equity analysis, and self-serve tooling to push automation forward.
• Support annual/off-cycle strategy, executive offer structuring, and collaboration with Talent Acquisition on offers and transparency.
