Job summary

Flowers Foods, Inc. is seeking a Senior leader to own direct materials sourcing, commodity risk management, and SAP governance across the bakery network. You will lead a team of category and SAP contracting managers, drive strategy and supplier performance, and ensure cost-effective supply of raw materials across plants.

The role emphasizes leadership, cross-functional collaboration with Finance and Operations, and delivering measurable savings while expanding capacity for new products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; advanced degree preferred.
• 10–15 years of progressive procurement experience with direct materials and commodity procurement.
• Experience leading a procurement team and strategic category management.
• Strong knowledge of SAP, Master Data, and SOX-compliant controls.
• Experience in food/beverage or bakery sector is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Strategy & Category Leadership: Lead strategic sourcing across commodity categories aligning with objectives and bakery operations.
• Commodity Risk Management & Hedging: Own the risk program and hedge using futures/options within policy.
• Sourcing, Negotiation & Supplier Management: Direct high-value supplier negotiations and ensure uninterrupted supply.
• Financial Planning & Cost Management: Own commodity cost assumptions for annual planning and track savings.
• Direct Procure-to-Pay, SAP & Governance: Lead Direct P2P, SAP contracts, and data integrity.
• People Leadership & Team Development: Hire and develop a team of five category/SAP managers.
