Job summary

Bloomberg Industry Group seeks a Director of User Research to establish a centralized research function across Law, Tax, and Government products. This leader will define how customer insight informs product strategy, prioritization, and investment decisions, driving measurable improvements.

You will hire and mentor researchers, standardize intake and engagement, and partner with cross-functional leaders to embed research into development and scaling across platforms.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in user research for complex, web-based products with leadership growth
• Experience hiring, developing, and leading research teams
• Experience scaling a research function in a multi-product org
• Strong expertise in qualitative methods; comfortable with quantitative data
• Ability to influence product strategy and priorities with insights
• Experience partnering with Product, Design, Engineering and business teams

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a centralized user research function serving Law, Tax, and Government product lines
• Hire, develop, and manage a team of user researchers, evolving from a limited footprint to scale
• Define and operate a research model with intake, prioritization, and engagement
• Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering leadership to embed research into development
• Lead research on complex, ambiguous problem spaces and critical bets
• Translate insights into implications and recommendations informing decisions
• Establish standards and systems to improve research quality and accessibility
• Connect insights across product lines to inform platform-level opportunities
• Create tools and practices that enable teams to access and apply research insights
• Leverage emerging technologies to streamline recruitment, synthesis, and sharing
