Job summary

Cal Poly Pomona's Facilities Planning and Management seeks a Director of Planning, Design & Construction to lead major campus capital projects from pre-design through occupancy, ensuring scope, budget, and schedule alignment.

You will direct architects, engineers, and contractors, oversee design documents and cost estimates, and coordinate with campus partners to deliver facilities that meet safety, accessibility, and sustainability goals.

Qualifications

• Experience leading capital project design and construction management.
• Ability to coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors.
• Experience with project budgeting, cost estimates, and scheduling.
• Familiarity with procurement, contract administration, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Plans, manages, and oversees the delivery of campus major and minor capital projects through full lifecycle.
• Establishes scope, budgets, schedules, milestones, and quality standards for projects.
• Directs architects, engineers, construction managers, consultants, inspectors, contractors, and other service providers.
• Oversees preparation and review of design documents, specifications, cost estimates, and construction documents.
• Monitors project performance and resolves issues related to scope, budget, schedule, quality, and stakeholder requirements.
