Job summary

The University of New Hampshire in Durham seeks an experienced Facilities Operations leader to manage the university's physical plant and grounds, including oversight of the Facilities Control Center, IWMS, and fleet management. You will direct maintenance, grounds, event support, and contract services to ensure safe, reliable campus operations.

You will lead a team of about 140 staff, manage a $22 million annual operations budget, and coordinate with university leadership to align facility

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture or related field with 7+ years of experience, or a Master’s with 5+ years.
• Experience administering contracts for facility renovation, alteration and construction or Life Safety contracting.
• Minimum five years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations and maintenance of the university’s physical plant and grounds, including facilities services and 24/7 response.
• Direct IWMS usage to track assets, preventative maintenance, and life cycle optimization.
• Manage service contracts, ensure quality, value, and customer satisfaction.
• Lead budgeting, planning, and reporting to align facility services with campus needs.
• Supervise a large workforce and coordinate with university leadership to support teaching and research.
