Job summary

Standard Chartered is seeking a senior leader to head Business Risk Management for Jersey Priority Banking. You will lead the first line of defense, implement the Operational Risk Framework, and advise across risk areas to protect clients and the Bank.

You will shape the data analytics agenda and ensure material risks are documented, escalated, and reported through governance forums, partnering with senior leaders across functions.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of experience within the banking industry.
• Extensive experience in business risk management, operational risk, governance, and controls.
• Strong ability to manage complex risk matters and provide practical, commercially balanced advice.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Business Risk Management agenda for Priority Banking in Jersey.
• Support the implementation of the Group and Europe Business Risk Management strategy.
• Represent the first line of defence and promote ownership of operational risk.
• Provide strategic risk advice to support sustainable business growth.
• Act as subject-matter expert for operational risk incidents and issues.
• Oversee risk management across Jersey and Falkland Islands Retail Banking.
• Ensure identification, assessment, monitoring, and mitigation of material risks.
• Lead by example, promoting a strong risk and conduct culture.
