Job description

At Harrison Green, we create landscapes that enrich daily life, foster connection, and bring enduring beauty to city rooftops, townhouses, country estates, hospitality environments, and boutique commercial projects. Our work spans city rooftops, townhouses, country estates, hospitality environments, and boutique commercial projects, each approached with the same commitment to thoughtful design, meticulous execution, and long‑term stewardship. Operating out of our custom‑retrofitted, light‑filled commercial studio in Brooklyn, we have built a growing enterprise that has spent over a decade transforming the city's skyline.

We are seeking a high‑energy, commercially driven Head of Business Development. This individual will be the tip of the spear for new revenue—building proactive outreach strategies, cultivating executive‑level relationships, triaging inbound leads, and managing a disciplined sales pipeline.

You do not need a design background; our Chief Creative Officer and Design Directors bring unmatched creative authority. What you bring is exceptional sales leadership, polished executive presence, relationship cultivation, and quantitative pipeline rigor. You will ensure our active lead pipeline is healthy, conversion rates at every funnel stage are tracked, and closed revenue ladders directly up to our multi‑year growth targets.

Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation & Client Relationship Cultivation
  • Outbound Target Strategy: Proactively identify, map, and pursue high‑value targets across NYC luxury real estate developers and brokers, top‑tier architects, interior design firms, luxury estate managers, and client representatives.
  • Executive Partnership Building: Cultivate long‑term commercial relationships with strategic partners. Jointly leverage the Chief Creative Officer on strategic meetings and relationship‑building events to convert industry contacts into active project pitches.
  • Inbound Triage & Vetting: Triage and rigorously vet all inbound inquiries generated from client referrals, press, social media, and digital channels. Screen for project scale, budget alignment, site feasibility, and client fit before committing creative resources.
  • First‑Impression Excellence: Serve as the primary initial brand ambassador for Harrison Green, establishing immediate trust, sophistication, and commercial clarity during discovery calls and initial presentations.
  • Qualified Handoff Protocols: Once a lead is vetted and deemed a qualified fit, coordinate and execute a seamless handoff to the Chief Creative Officer and Director of Design for the initial site visit, creative discovery, and proposal assembly.
  • Proposal & Contract Support: Partner with the Head of Commercial Estimating to ensure client proposals align with margin targets and strategic firm markups. Support closing conversations, contract negotiations, and agreement execution.
  • Re‑Engagement & Retention: Stay engaged during major pitch presentations to maintain client trust and drive high win rates. Systematically re‑engage past clients and architect partners for recurring maintenance and future construction phases.
  • End‑to‑End Pipeline Tracking: Build and maintain the firm’s central Sales Pipeline Dashboard. Track active pipeline volume, stage‑by‑stage conversion velocity, average deal size, and win/loss rates.
  • Conversion Analytics: Analyze funnel bottlenecks to improve conversion efficiency from Initial Discovery to Site Visit to Proposal Delivery to Contract Executed.
  • Revenue Target Alignment: Track YTD cumulative contract sign‑offs against annual firm growth targets, providing quarterly forecasting updates to the CFO and Executive Committee.
Who You Are

You are a natural networker and closer who thrives on relationship‑driven sales. You possess a polished first impression, sophisticated communication skills, and the drive to hunt for new business. While you appreciate world‑class design, you view growth through the lens of sales velocity, conversion health, unit economics, and pipeline math.

What You Bring
  • Sales & Business Development Mastery: 5–8+ years of proven business development, sales, or client partnership experience—with a track record of driving proactive lead generation and closing deals in high‑end, high‑touch luxury industries.
  • Industry Experience: Strongly preferred background in luxury design‑build, high‑end real estate, architecture/interior design services, luxury hospitality, or high‑net‑worth client services.
  • Pipeline & CRM Discipline: Strong experience setting up and managing structured CRM/pipeline tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Salesforce, HubSpot), with a quantitative approach to pipeline tracking and conversion analytics.
  • Executive Presence: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Ability to hold room with ultra‑high‑net‑worth individuals, commercial property owners, and leading design principals.
  • Financial Savviness: Strong commercial acumen; understands gross margins, contract structures, deal sizing, and how sales velocity drives business‑level growth.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field required.
