Job summary

Children’s Rescue Fund seeks a Director of Building Security to oversee shelter security operations at the Long Island City location. You will supervise security staff, coordinate credentialing, and ensure a safe, inspection-ready environment for residents and staff.

The role requires a bachelor's degree and several years in security/operations, with strong leadership, crisis management, and collaboration across departments to maintain high safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and/or five years’ experience in Building Security and Operations.
• Experience supervising security staff and operations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise security staff (Shift Supervisors and Safety Monitors) and Residential Aide/Food Service Workers.
• Direct staff training through coaching and resources.
• Collaborate with Maintenance Director on credentialing, hiring, evaluation and feedback.
• Ensure building safety, compliance with DHS and other authorities, and incident reporting in CARES.
• Maintain alarms, access control, and security systems; liaise with ownership on security issues.
• Oversee 24-hour crisis intervention protocols and client support to stabilize residents.
