Job summary

Remote Jobs is seeking an accomplished Head of Business Intelligence to lead enterprise BI and reporting, turning data into reliable insights, dashboards, and decision-support tools across Insurance & Investments. You will drive strategy, governance, and self-service analytics while guiding teams through modernization and cloud adoption.

The role covers executive reporting, KPI frameworks, and collaboration with Finance, Risk, IT, and Operations to deliver trusted, compliant BI outputs.

Qualifications

• 10–15+ years in BI, analytics, data, reporting, or technology.
• 5+ years in BI/analytics leadership.
• Experience in executive BI leadership roles (e.g., Head of BI, BI Director, VP BI).
• Experience in Insurance, Banking, Asset Management, or Financial Services preferred.
• Strong expertise in BI, data visualization, executive dashboards, KPI/reporting frameworks, data analytics, data warehousing, ETL/ELT, data integration, data governance, and self-service analytics.
• Strong knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Looker.
• Proficient in SQL, data modelling, dimensional modelling, and analytical data architecture.
• Experience with cloud data platforms and modern BI environments.
• Understanding of financial-services KPIs and reporting requirements.
• Strong stakeholder-management across Finance, Risk, IT, Operations, Investments and leadership.
• Bachelor's degree; Master's advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the enterprise BI strategy and roadmap.
• Lead BI, reporting, data visualization, and management-information functions.
• Establish enterprise-wide reporting standards, KPIs, metrics, and data definitions.
• Develop executive dashboards and performance-management solutions.
• Lead self-service BI adoption across business functions.
• Design and manage enterprise dashboards, management reports, operational reports, executive reports, KPI scorecards, and regulatory reporting solutions.
• Partner with Data Engineering and IT on data warehouses, data lakes, data marts, ETL/ELT, APIs, and data integration.
• Ensure BI outputs are based on accurate, governance-backed data.
• Establish data-quality and reporting-control processes.
• Support advanced analytics and data-science datasets.
• Translate business requirements into BI solutions and analytical products.
• Identify trends, opportunities, and performance issues through data analysis.
• Lead BI modernization, automation, and cloud migration.
• Oversee BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Looker) and governance.
