Job summary

Selective Insurance, a leading U.S. property and casualty insurer, is seeking a senior BI & Analytics leader for the Claims department. You will drive data-driven decision making, deliver dashboards and insights, and shape analytics roadmaps across underwriting and claims.

In this role you will partner with IT to evolve the data warehouse and BI tools, manage cross-functional projects, and influence strategic decisions with rigorous analytics in a complex insurance environment.

Qualifications

• Proficient with Microsoft BI tools – Cognos, MS SharePoint, SQL, Access, Excel.
• Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience with data warehouse design, data warehousing concepts, and data modeling is a plus.
• Strong project management skills and ability to interface with senior management.
• General insurance industry knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of a BI strategy including dashboards, scorecards, and reporting solutions.
• Identify factors influencing Underwriting and Claim performance to drive premium growth and profitability.
• Define frameworks for addressing business problems; lead statistical/data/financial analyses and project plans.
• Drive stakeholder engagement, change management, and knowledge management across teams.
• Collaborate with IT on the data warehouse/BI environment development and support.
