Job summary

Vanderbilt University Public Safety seeks a Director of Enterprise Threat Assessment to lead the Behavioral Consultation Team (BCT) and direct the university-wide program for threat assessment and violence prevention.

The role partners with offices across the university and medical center to develop training, risk management, and crisis response initiatives, ensuring timely information sharing and effective interventions within a complex higher-education environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Threat Management Certification (CTM) through ATAP within 12 months is required.
• Valid driver’s license in Tennessee or eligible to obtain within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Chair and lead the Behavioral Consultation Team (BCT) and oversee enterprise threat assessment and management program.
• Oversee intake, triage, assessment, and management of threatening or concerning behavior reports.
• Develop and coordinate risk-mitigation strategies including safety planning and administrative actions.
• Lead enterprise training and awareness efforts on threat assessment, violence prevention, and crisis response.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve policies and procedures for threat assessment.
