Job summary

Brown University seeks a Director of Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management to lead BART and advance its risk assessment and prevention program. You will steward policy, secure cross‑divisional collaboration, and oversee case management for high‑risk situations, reporting to Public Safety leadership.

This role requires strategic leadership, deep expertise in threat assessment, and the ability to coordinate between Campus Life, HR, and academic units while upholding FERPA and institutional

Qualifications

• Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or related field.
• 7–10 years of related experience in threat assessment or campus safety.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating across units.
• Solid knowledge of FERPA, Clery Act, Title IX, and ADA/504.
• Demonstrated ability to build cross-divisional relationships and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Chair and convene the BART Team with structured case-review protocols.
• Serve as case manager of record for high-risk cases with senior partners.
• Provide consultation, risk assessment, and safety planning for referrals.
• Report program metrics and trends to senior leadership.
