Job summary

Baltimore City Health Department is seeking a Local Health Improvement Coalition Director to lead the LHIC and oversee multiple health projects. The role reports to the Chief Policy and Strategy Officer and steers collaboration among 120+ partners, focusing on diabetes, care coordination, and social determinants of health.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in coalition-building, program planning, and grant management, with a commitment to equity and community engagement in Baltimore City.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership skills to mobilize diverse stakeholders toward a common goal.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal abilities.
• Knowledge of public health principles, population health strategies, and health promotion theories.
• Experience in program planning, implementation, and evaluation, with a focus on health equity.
• Experience in grant writing, fund raising, and budget management.
• Proficiency in data analysis to inform decision-making and measure outcomes.
• Familiarity with Baltimore City’s social needs and health disparities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Local Health Improvement Coalition (LHIC) strategic planning in alignment with goals.
• Cultivate and maintain partnerships with city agencies, healthcare providers, and community orgs.
• Oversee monthly coalition meetings and cross-sector collaboration.
• Direct program development, implementation, and evaluation to address health disparities.
• Support policy efforts to promote health equity and healthy environments.
• Oversee CDC health equity grant, budgets, and reporting.
• Manage contracts and subgrantees with vendors and partners.
