Job summary

State of Maryland seeks a Chief of Local Health Strategy and Infrastructure to lead coordination between state and local health policy and program implementation in Baltimore. The role provides guidance to 24 local health officers and oversees a combined budget exceeding $1 billion and thousands of state employees.

The Chief will report to the Deputy Secretary for Public Health Services and drive strategic policy, operations, and mentorship across MDH leadership to strengthen local health

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 8 years of health and human services admin experience, including 3 years in supervision.
• Master's degree may substitute for one year; Doctorate substitutes for two years.
• Additional experience may substitute for college degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide policy and operational guidance for Maryland's 24 local health officers.
• Coordinate state-local policies and program implementation within the Public Health Services Administration.
• Oversee budgets and personnel across Local Health Departments.
• Engage LHOs in policy and program design and updates.
