Job summary

EV.Careers is seeking a Development Engineering Lead in Atlanta to own drone platforms from concept to production. You’ll guide a small team across mechanical, electrical, software, and systems disciplines and drive design-for-manufacturing initiatives in a fast‑growing robotics environment.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, ownership of hardware development, and collaboration with manufacturing and suppliers to deliver robust autonomous drone systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of engineering experience, including 2+ years leading or managing engineers.
• Experience taking hardware product from prototype to production.
• Experience designing mechanical systems for robotics or electromechanical products.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of drone platforms through full product lifecycle: concept, prototyping, testing, qualification, and production transition.
• Own the mechanical design of components and assemblies and integrate with electronics, sensors, actuators, and wiring.
• Manage and mentor a small cross-disciplinary engineering team.
• Stand up and improve engineering processes: version control, documentation, design standards, and ECO workflows.
• Partner with manufacturing and supply chain to drive DF(M) and DFA.
• Create CAD models, drawings, and manufacturing documentation and support reviews and risk assessments.
