Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Manager, Applied AI Architect to lead a team of Applied AI Architects and drive customer outcomes from discovery to deployment. You will partner with Sales, Deployment, Product, Engineering, and Research to create a seamless customer journey in a hybrid San Francisco/New York office setup.

The role requires 8+ years in technical customer-facing roles, 3+ years in pre-sales leadership, and a track record with Generative AI/ML solutions. Relocation assistance is provided.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in technical customer-facing roles with C-level relationships.
• 3+ years leading technical pre-sales teams; hiring and mentoring success.
• Led complex sales involving Generative AI or ML solutions; strong cloud knowledge.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and drive customer outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and communicate a clear strategic vision for the Applied AI Architect team.
• Guide the team through pre-sales discovery, deployment, and adoption with measurable outcomes.
• Serve as escalation point for key customers; communicate with executive stakeholders.
• Advocate for innovative AI applications across sectors and drive customer value.
• Coordinate with delivery teams and specialist support to ensure execution.
