Job summary

MassMutual is seeking a Director of Annuity Valuation to lead the valuation and reporting of annuity blocks and to drive forward-looking insights. The role oversees a team of quantitative professionals, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery for GAAP and statutorily required statements.

The director will develop and implement valuation methodologies, partner with internal stakeholders, and shepherd governance and model enhancements. Springfield or Boston base with broad leadership impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
• Fellow of the Society of Actuaries.
• 5 years’ actuarial experience in valuation and reporting, and/or in annuity pricing, assumptions development, and risk management.
• 3 years’ exposure to valuation regulations and financial statements under US Statutory and GAAP reporting.
• 1 year of experience leading a project or key initiative.

Responsibilities

• Lead valuation and actuarial reporting of annuity blocks including acquired and ceded blocks.
• Manage a team of quantitative professionals and drive timely, accurate financial insights.
• Develop sound valuation methodologies and assumptions; drive process efficiency and robust modeling.
• Communicate results to stakeholders and support regulatory filings and governance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new business initiatives in valuation processes.
