Job summary

MassMutual seeks a Director of Annuity Valuation to lead the Valuation team in the valuation and actuarial reporting of annuity blocks, including acquired and ceded business. The role is based in Springfield, MA or Boston, MA and focuses on delivering accurate, timely financial insights.

You will develop valuation methodologies, manage governance for monthly/quarterly processes and regulatory filings, and coach a team of quantitative professionals while partnering with Corp Finance, ERM and Tax

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
• Fellow of the Society of Actuaries.
• 5 years’ actuarial experience in valuation and reporting, and/or in annuity pricing, assumptions development, and risk management.
• 3 years’ exposure to valuation regulations and financial statements under US Statutory and GAAP reporting.
• 1 year of experience leading a project or key initiative.

Responsibilities

• Lead valuation and reporting for US Statutory and GAAP including annuity blocks.
• Develop valuation methodologies, assumptions, and robust modeling capabilities.
• Oversee governance for monthly/quarterly reporting and regulatory filings.
• Partner with Corp Finance, ERM, Investment Management and Tax to communicate results and insights.
• Coach and develop talent within the Valuation team and drive continuous improvement.
