Job summary

Oscar Health seeks a Director of Analytics Engineering to lead the Analytics Engineering function and set enterprise strategy for trusted, reusable data to empower analytics and AI. The role reports to the VP, Data and sits in a hybrid NYC office with three in-person days per week.

Base pay ranges from $198,720 to $260,820 per year, with full benefits, unlimited vacation, equity grants, and annual performance bonuses. This is a high-impact leadership role at Oscar Health in New York.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in analytics engineering or related data roles.
• 5+ years leading multi-team data organizations.
• Experience with enterprise-scale data transformations.
• Strong SQL and data modeling on cloud platforms.
• Experience with dbt, Looker, GCP or equivalents.
• Proven ability to enable analytics/AI with governed data products.
• Knowledge of data governance, metadata, lineage, access & ownership.
• Ability to influence executives with strategy and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead analytics engineering across multiple teams and set the operating plan.
• Govern the data transformation layer for trusted analytics and AI.
• Establish engineering standards and incident-response practices.
• Build and lead managers and senior ICs with growth paths.
• Align priorities with business and technology leaders.
• Expand self-service analytics with better tools and guidance.
• Measure data trust, delivery speed, and cost efficiency.
• Represent the function in exec reviews with progress and risks.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
