Job summary

CVS Health is seeking an Executive Director, AI Infrastructure & Platform Engineering to build and run its on-prem AI compute platform across GPU clusters, NIC fabric, and OpenShift. You\'ll set operating model, hire and lead teams, and ensure 99.99% availability.

This greenfield build requires setting standards, driving FinOps, and partnering with Security SRE to meet HIPAA/NIST AI RMF. Extensive leadership and hands-on infra expertise required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering leadership at data center scale.
• Hands-on ownership of bare-metal Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• Experience with RoCE v2, InfiniBand, and high-speed fabrics.
• Proven ability to lead 24/7 operations and SRE practices.
• Executive-level stakeholder communication and budget ownership.

Responsibilities

• Define long-range vision and strategy for AI infrastructure.
• Lead multi-site, 24/7 operations with reliability targets.
• Oversee hardware lifecycle, capacity planning, and vendor management.
• Direct Kubernetes and OpenShift operations; enforce baselines.
• Establish operating model and transition to CVS-owned operations.
