Job summary

Artefact is seeking a senior AI/ML leader to drive production-grade AI solutions, including classical models and LLM-powered systems. You will architect, build, and scale AI platforms while guiding a team of engineers and collaborating with clients on pre‑sales activities.

You will shape context engineering, harness design, and fine‑tuning pipelines, leveraging Gemini, Vertex AI, and other cloud tools in a dynamic startup environment.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate has a substantial software engineering and AI background with 8+ years of experience, including 2–3 years on LLM architecture.
• Strong expertise in generative AI/LLM engineering and cloud-native software architecture with production deployments.
• Master’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Hands‑on command of agentics SDKs and modern full‑stack frameworks.
• Experience designing cloud architectures: microservices, serverless, containers/Kubernetes, CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• AI & ML solution architecture: design and optimize production AI systems.
• Context engineering: define prompt/system design, RAG, vector stores, memory management.
• Harness engineering: build robust agent harnesses with orchestration and observability.
• Fine‑tuning pipelines: data curation, supervised fine‑tuning, evaluation, deployment.
• Platform stack: deploy on Gemini Enterprise and Vertex AI; knowledge of Foundry/Bedrock helpful.
• Team leadership: mentor engineers and set technical standards; support pre‑sales.
• ML modeling: oversee classical and modern ML models for client use cases.
• Contribute to AI strategy: shape GenAI architecture direction and platform roadmap.
