Artefact, a data & AI consulting firm, is expanding in the US with NYC and LA offices. We seek a senior AI/ML leader to steer production-grade AI solutions, from classical models to LLM-powered systems, reporting to senior leadership.

You will build and mentor a team of AI/ML engineers, collaborate with clients and stakeholders, shape architecture direction, and drive pre-sales activities, with a startup mentality and strong business focus.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate has 8+ years of data science and ML experience, including 2–3 years on LLM architecture and harness & context engineering.
• Expertise in generative AI/LLM engineering and classical ML modeling with production deployments.
• Master’s degree in CS/Engineering/Statistics or related field.
• Hands-on command of core ML libraries and agentic SDKs, and fine-tuning frameworks.
• Experience building end-to-end fine-tuning pipelines and deployment.

Responsabilités

• AI & ML Solution Architecture: Leading the design, build, and optimization of production AI systems.
• Context Engineering: Defining and standardizing context engineering practices (prompt design, RAG, vectors, memory).
• Harness Engineering: Building robust agent harnesses, evaluation, guardrails, and observability for production.
• Fine‑Tuning Pipelines: Designing and operating fine‑tuning and model adaptation pipelines.
• Platform Stack: Deploying on Gemini Enterprise and Vertex AI as primary stack; knowledge of Foundry/Bedrock helpful.
• Team Leadership: Managing and developing a team of AI & ML engineers; setting standards.
• Pre‑Sales & Business Development: Supporting scoping, demos, and solution architectures with clients.
• Machine Learning Modeling: Overseeing classical and modern ML models and deployment decisions.
• Contributing to AI Strategy: Shaping GenAI architecture direction and platform roadmap.
