EY is seeking an Applied AI Engineer within Challenger to build and operate long‑running AI agents that perform deterministic tasks across complex workflows. You will design execution loops, tools, contexts, permissions, evaluations, and runtime controls to ensure safe, steerable behavior in production.

This role sits at the intersection of applied AI, distributed systems, and product engineering, focusing on enterprise integration, long-running executions, and handling difficult production

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field required.
• 7–9 years of software or applied ML engineering with production systems ownership.
• Hands‑on evidence of shipping large‑language‑model apps, agents, or complex model‑driven workflows.

Responsabilidades

• Choose the right execution model and deterministic steps.
• Build dependable tools and contracts with clear outcomes.
• Engineer agent behavior, planning, routing, delegation and handoffs.
• Create durable context from instructions, user state, retrieval and feedback.
• Bound agent authority with scoped identities and budgets.
• Evaluate trajectories with tests covering tool use and recovery.
• Operate long-running execution with durable state and safe retries.
• Make behavior observable with end-to-end traces and replay.
• Protect user control with clear intervention points.
• Build shared capability across product, platform, knowledge, security and evaluation teams.
