Job summary

UMass Chan Medical School in Worcester, MA seeks a Director of Academic Technology to lead strategic planning and execution of institutional software for academic operations. This role partners with students, faculty and staff to enable efficient education and research workflows.

The incumbent will oversee the academic technology staff, governance, budgeting, and integration efforts across the UMMS campuses, ensuring data security and continuity of academic services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in information systems, CS or related field.
• 5 years of management experience in large IT org, 4 in academic/research IT.
• Strong strategic thinking and enterprise-wide perspective.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical users.

Responsibilities

• Develop goals around Academic Technology at the Medical School.
• Lead evolution, installation, maintenance, configuration, and customization of the academic infrastructure.
• Manage and lead the academic development team supporting Student Information Systems and integrations.
• Coordinate and provide resource to activities in support of UMMS' three graduate schools and academic offices.
• Provide consultation to students and faculty in the utilization of local support environments and academic tools.
• Develop sustainable budget models for academic initiatives.
