Job summary

University of Massachusetts Medical School seeks a Director of Academic Technology to drive strategic planning, resource allocation, and delivery of institutional software supporting academic operations. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Information Systems Management or Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of management/supervisory experience in a large IT organization; at least 4 years in academic/research IT and 3 years in an Academic Medical Center.
• Strong strategic thinking with enterprise-wide perspective; able to negotiate and build consensus in an academic setting.
• Strong project management skills and ability to lead diverse teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with both technical and non-technical users.
• Ability to lead and manage in a dynamic, growing research environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop goals around Academic Technology and socialize them across constituents.
• Promote collaboration tools for the academic mission across campuses through education and community building.
• Ensure academic systems are available for students, faculty and staff.
• Lead evolution, installation, maintenance, configuration, and customization of academic infrastructure.
• Develop recommendations for a collaborative environment for end user services and evaluation of new technologies/products.
• Manage and lead the academic development team supporting Student Information Systems and integrations.
