i3 Academy in Birmingham, Alabama, is seeking a Head Middle School Cheerleading Coach to lead the athletic program in line with AHSAA and NFHS guidelines. The coach will oversee development, safety, performance, and foster a positive, inclusive team culture.

The ideal candidate clears background checks, maintains CPR/First Aid, develops training programs, schedules games and tournaments, manages budgets, mentors students academically and athletically, and collaborates with school staff to uphold

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; coaching certification a plus.
• Strong understanding of cheerleading fundamentals and NFHS/AHSAA guidelines.
• Proven ability to develop student-athletes' skills and academics.

Responsibilities

• Clear a background check and maintain current CPR/First Aid certification.
• Complete all coaching requirements as mandated by AHSAA and NFHS.
• Fundraise and manage budgetary allocations for the team's needs.
• Develop athletes through skill instruction, conditioning, and character development.
• Ensure compliance with AHSAA rules, i3 Academy academic policies, and school regulations.
• Communicate effectively with parents, students, colleagues, and the broader community.
• Mentor and support students in achieving and maintaining high academic standards.
• Develop and implement comprehensive training programs and practice schedules.
• Schedule games, tournaments, and coordinate logistical arrangements.
• Evaluate player performance and provide equitable treatment to each athlete.
• Attend professional development opportunities to enhance coaching skills and strategies.
• Demonstrate sportsmanship and integrity in interactions on and off the playing area.
• Collaborate closely with school administration and other staff members.
• Serve as a positive role model and uphold ethical standards at all times.
• Stay informed of current trends, strategies, and best practices in the sport.
• Ensure athletes are medically cleared and adhere to AHSAA eligibility guidelines.
• Utilize technology platforms like Dragonfly for administrative and reporting purposes.
• Maintain sports facilities by setting up, cleaning, and securing the playing area.
