Job summary

i3 Academy in Birmingham, Alabama seeks a Head High School Cheerleading Coach to lead and develop the program in accordance with AHSAA and NFHS guidelines.

You will oversee training, safety, budgeting, scheduling, competitions, and collaboration with administration while fostering a positive team culture. Background checks and CPR certification are required. Evening/weekend duties and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; coaching experience valued.
• Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel for events.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the high school cheer program per AHSAA and NFHS rules.
• Clear a background check and maintain CPR/First Aid certification.
• Develop athletes through skill instruction, conditioning and character development.
• Schedule games, tournaments, and coordinate logistics.
• Communicate with parents, students, staff, and community.
• Maintain facilities and equipment.
• Mentor students to achieve academic standards and NCAA eligibility.
• Stay informed of coaching trends and best practices.
• Attend professional development opportunities to enhance coaching skills.
• Demonstrate sportsmanship and integrity in interactions on and off the playing area.
