Job description

This is a Temporary Position that will run from May 28, 2025 to July 25, 2025.


The working days for this position will be Monday-Friday and some weekends.


Pay is $85 per day

SUMMARY: The Head Lifeguard is responsible for maintaining strict safety rules and procedures at the pool and waterfront, while at the same time creating an atmosphere of fun for the swimmers and boaters. Properly maintain the pool and waterfront areas.


Specific Duties-Lifeguard:



  • Set up buddy system for swimmers

  • Plan fair and effective system of consequences for rules broken.

  • Create interesting presentation of rules & safety procedures

  • Conduct swim tests, help supervise pool or waterfront activities as per schedule.

  • Help with daily cleaning and maintenance of all aquatic areas - pool, changing rooms, equipment rooms, Waterfront dock and equipment

  • Participate in all staff meetings, evening programs and devotions. Assist with program components as needed.


Specific Duties- Janitorial/Housekeeping



  • General maintenance and cleaning of the guest cottages, chapel, offices, hallways and bathrooms.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible for the Lifeguards


QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. They will assist in creating a Christian atmosphere and support the infusion of Christian Outreach through the programming. Preferred 6 months related experience in a personal relationship with Christ and working with youth. This individual must be of good character, mature and able to uphold the Christian standards and ministries of The Salvation Army in all areas of job responsibilities.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: No Education or Experience needed. Will provide on the job training.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Current Lifeguard Certification and Waterfront Skills Certificate


OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Must pass all applicable background checks. English proficiency sufficient for communication with supervisors, co-workers, clients and customers. Must be at least 18 years of age (BFOQ) and have at least two years lifeguard experience. Supervisory experience preferred.

  • The employee is frequently required to, kneel, crouch, or crawl and occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop.

  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • The employee must have the ability to identify and distinguish colors due to each swimmer receiving a colored wristband to signify which area of the pool they are allowed to be in.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee frequently works in high, precarious places, and is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
