Qualifications

• Familiarity with Boston Public Schools and the City of Boston.
• Current authorization to work in the United States.
• Understanding of what is necessary for an urban school system to achieve continuous improvement in a complex environment.
• Deep commitment to the mission of public education.
• Five+ years as a Senior custodian (preferred).
• Three+ years supervising or running custodial work crews (preferred).

Responsibilities

• General knowledge of school grounds and facilities.
• Ability to lead and supervise a union workforce.
• Coordinate work from verbal or written requests, emergencies, and complaints.
• Grass cutting, hedge and weed trimming, and general cleanup of schools and schoolyards.
• Learn and apply advanced landscaping techniques.
• Collaborate with the Training Area Manager and OFM Maintenance shop for training and care of equipment.
• Available for training and special projects as directed.
