Job summary

City of Palm Beach Gardens is seeking a Head Golf Professional to supervise golf operations and to act as decision-maker in the General Manager's absence. The role includes budget preparation, revenue tracking, scheduling, and coordination of tournaments and special events.

The ideal candidate has PGA/LPGA Class A certification or a related bachelor's degree, plus several years of management and golf-industry experience. Availability for varied hours, including nights and weekends, is required.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in the management and supervision of staff.
• Three years' experience in the golf industry with knowledge of the management and operation of a golf facility including pro shop, outside services, and tournaments/events operations preferred
• Substantial continuing education in related areas of golf and/or golf management
• Any related combination of education, training and experience

Responsibilities

• Oversees Golf Operations Manager(s) and Pro Shop Manager(s).
• In the absence of the General Manager will oversee the Director of Agronomy, Tournament and Events Coordinator, Communications Specialist, Food and Beverage Manager and Chef and the corresponding staff to their respective departments; making all pertinent decisions of the course, club, facilities and operation.
• Develops and reviews budgets, forecasts, and revenue reports
• Leads tournament and events planning and management
• Assists in marketing efforts for the golf club
