Qualifications

  • Financial acumen with budgeting and revenue responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all daily golf operations including shop, practice facilities, events and tournaments.
  • Maintain strong member and guest relations with an on-course presence.
  • Recruit, train, schedule and develop golf services staff.
  • Oversee merchandising, inventory controls, purchasing and POS systems.
  • Provide instruction, clinics, junior programming and club fittings.
  • Plan and execute tournaments and special events.
  • Manage tee sheets, pace of play, handicap administration and Rule compliance.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting and payroll oversight.

Position Overview:

The Head Golf Professional is responsible for the overall leadership, management and financial performance of the golf operation, working collaboratively with other departments to deliver a consistently high-quality, member-focused experience. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role requiring strong professional presence, sound judgment and the ability to balance service excellence with operational discipline. The role offers the opportunity to influence programming, shape culture and build strong relationships within a club that values consistency, professionalism and member experience.

Experience Required
  • PGA of America Class A membership in good standing (required). Minimum 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience in golf operations.
  • Strong knowledge of golf facility operations, instruction, tournament administration and retail management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, set expectations and cultivate a positive service culture.
  • Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and driving revenue.
  • Proficiency with golf technology platforms; experience with ClubEssential, Golf Genius and Jonas POS preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional demeanor, strong work ethic and service-oriented leadership style.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Lead all daily golf operations including the golf shop, practice facilities, outside services, tournaments, leagues, instruction and events.
  • Maintain a strong on-course and clubhouse presence, fostering meaningful relationships with members and guests.
  • Recruit, train, schedule and develop golf services staff to ensure service standards are consistently met.
  • Oversee retail merchandising, inventory controls, purchasing and POS systems.
  • Provide individual and group instruction, clinics, junior programming, fittings and club repair services.
  • Plan and execute tournaments, leagues, outings and special events in collaboration with internal partners.
  • Manage tee sheet operations, pace of play, handicap administration and Rules of Golf compliance.
  • Maintain fiscal responsibility through budgeting, forecasting, payroll oversight and expense control.
  • Collaborate closely with the Golf Course Superintendent on course setup, playability and tournament preparation.
  • Represent Palm Aire Country Club at local, sectional and national PGA events.
