Job summary

Washoe County School District REED High School is seeking a dedicated coach for Diving or Swimming. The role involves coaching students, maintaining safety standards, and coordinating with school leadership on activities and trips.

The position is non-contracted; compensation is based on the Extended Day Duty Scale with potential weekend hours. New employees will undergo fingerprinting with related deductions; FBI/DPSS clearance is required for employment.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a high school diploma; preferred that applicants are teachers under contract with WCSD.
• Some experience participating in and/or functioning as a coach/advisor in this activity.

Responsibilities

• Develops rapport with students and provides sound leadership; models good sportsmanship and applies discipline fairly.
• Maintains communication with Principal/Athletic Director regarding the program, trips, games, etc.
• Develops accountability systems for equipment upkeep and protection.
• Develops good public relations in the school and community.
• Attends contests and practice sessions.
• Completes reports evaluating the activity and makes improvement recommendations.
