Job summary

Humana is seeking an Associate Director of Software Engineering (Enterprise Performance Engineering) to lead a centralized team delivering performance testing, workload modeling, capacity planning, and resilience validation across a broad portfolio. You will shape standards, tools, and practices to ensure scalable, highly available software.

Remote with travel as needed. This senior role requires deep expertise in enterprise performance testing, cloud performance engineering, observability

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in software or performance engineering.
• 3+ years of leadership experience managing engineering or performance engineering teams.
• Proven experience leading performance testing engagements for large-scale enterprise applications.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise performance testing tools such as LoadRunner Enterprise, BlazeMeter, Apache JMeter.

Responsibilities

• Lead execution of Humana's enterprise performance engineering strategy, roadmap, and operating model.
• Establish standards, frameworks, and governance for performance engineering.
• Lead a centralized team supporting multiple business segments and technology portfolios.
• Drive adoption of performance engineering practices across the software development lifecycle.
• Partner with Architecture, Engineering, Product, and SRE teams to embed performance considerations into design and delivery.
