Job summary

Vacatia is hiring a Chief Engineer to lead the maintenance and engineering team at Vacation Village Williamsburg in Williamsburg, VA. You’ll ensure every system, space, and equipment operates smoothly and safely, guiding preventive maintenance and capital improvements.

You will oversee HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and grounds, mentoring a high-performing team while coordinating with resort leadership to deliver an outstanding guest experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering or maintenance experience in hospitality.
• 2+ years in a leadership role; hospital ity experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance best practices.
• Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and a high-performing team.
• Hands-on skills and willingness to jump in when needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the engineering & maintenance team.
• Oversee daily operations of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Manage preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and Vacatia standards.
• Plan and manage capital improvement projects.
• Partner with vendors and contractors to complete repairs on time and on budget.
