Job summary

Vacatia’s Vacation Village Williamsburg seeks a Chief Engineer to lead the maintenance and engineering team, ensuring safe, reliable guest spaces and infrastructure. You’ll oversee HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and grounds, manage preventive maintenance, and partner with resort leaders to deliver an outstanding guest experience while controlling budgets and schedules.

This role requires hands-on leadership, on-call flexibility, and a commitment to safety and Vacatia standards in a hospitality

Qualifications

• 5+ years in engineering or maintenance, including 2+ years in a leadership role (hospitality experience preferred)
• Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance best practices
• Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and a high-performing team
• Hands-on, flexible with on-call coverage

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the engineering & maintenance team.
• Oversee daily operations of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Manage preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and Vacatia standards.
• Plan and manage capital improvement projects.
• Partner with vendors and contractors to complete repairs and upgrades on time and on budget.
