Job summary

Belgrade School District in Belgrade, MT is seeking a Head Custodian for MS2627_67 to lead the custodial team and maintain a safe, clean learning environment. The role requires 3–5 years in custodial work, Montana boiler license (or ability to obtain within six months), and strong maintenance oversight.

The incumbent will supervise staff, manage inventories, coordinate repairs, and ensure compliance with safety standards. Excellent communication and organization are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and possess a Montana boiler license or ability to obtain it within six months.
• Three to five years of custodial experience and the ability to pass a background check are required.
• General knowledge of safety, cleaning, and basic building maintenance is expected.

Responsibilities

• Oversee custodial staff to keep the building clean, safe, and pleasant for students and staff.
• Develop schedules for custodial staff and participate in evaluations and performance reviews.
• Manage supplies, inventory, and equipment in the school building and grounds.
• Coordinate with administration on repairs, safety checks, and preventive maintenance for HVAC and electrical systems.
• Supervise safety training and respond to emergencies and calls related to building operations.
• Perform general cleaning, minor repairs, and routine maintenance as needed.
• Assist with grounds maintenance, snow removal, and safety inspections.
