This supervisory custodial/maintenance position is responsible for the efficient and economical cleaning and maintenance of school buildings or other facilities. In smaller districts, it also involves grounds and athletic field maintenance. The employee reports directly to a higher-level staff member, with considerable leeway for independent judgment to keep buildings and equipment up to standards. Supervision is exercised over lower-level staff such as Cleaners, Laborers, and Custodians. Performs related work as required.
Thorough knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment; good knowledge of building surfaces and their care; working knowledge of tools, terminology, and practices in building maintenance; ability to schedule custodial and maintenance staff work; supervisory ability; record-keeping skills; ability to understand and follow oral and written directions; effective interpersonal skills; operation of floor cleaning and lawn equipment; minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical repair skills; comprehension of bathroom sanitation processes; ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets; good judgment; physical condition suitable for the position's demands.
Required Qualifications:
Note: Less education can be substituted with additional experience; college-level training does not substitute for required work experience.
Special Requirement: Valid NYS driver's license or ability to meet transportation needs.

Hours: Evenings, 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM
Salary: $45,041.54 per year, with a 6-month increment eligibility.
MCC offers flexible work arrangements, subject to operational needs. Remote work outside New York State is generally not permitted, with limited exceptions.
