An established industry player is seeking dedicated custodial staff to ensure a clean and safe environment for students and staff. This role involves performing essential cleaning and maintenance tasks, ensuring facilities are sanitized, and responding to emergencies. POSITION PURPOSE:
Ensures entire school/facility is sanitized, cleaned, and maintained (e.g., hard surface and carpeted floors, restrooms, waste disposal, windows, locker rooms, sweeps walkways outside of buildings, monitors grounds, picks up debris, shovels snow, and applies de-icing compounds to walkways, as necessary). Performs minor or routine maintenance on custodial equipment and reports repairs needed, safety concerns, and school property damage to supervisor. Attends required trainings.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT
Must be physically able to operate vacuum cleaners, carpet extracting machine, buffers, brooms, mops, small hand tools, etc. Must be able to lift or exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Work involves pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, stooping, kneeling, climbing ladders, maneuvering in confined spaces, and prolonged standing and walking. Work may involve exposure to extreme temperatures and smells commonly associated with schools in general. Physical demand requirements are for Medium Work.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to work in a school environment and come into direct contact with school system staff, contractors, students, parents, and community members that might use school facilities. Some work will be outdoor work, potentially in inclement weather.
