Taher, Inc. is seeking a Head Cook to join our school dining team. You will lead a small kitchen, prepare meals from standardized recipes, and ensure quality, safety, and timely service in a fast-paced environment.

This role emphasizes staff leadership, HACCP compliance, cost control, and collaboration with school communities. Experience in school food service and ServSafe is preferred, with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• 2 years previous experience in a school food service setting preferred.
• Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
• Able to follow supervisors direction and lead a small team.
• Strong communication skills with employees and client.
• Able to lift 30 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares a variety of food through standardized recipes.
• Ensures meals meet quality standards, are correctly prepared and timely.
• Monitors and directs food service staff and substitutes in prep, setup, and serving.
• Leads a small kitchen team and provides training and direction.
• Manages ordering, receiving, storing and inventory of perishables; adheres to HACCP.
• Maintains USDA compliance and controls costs and waste.
