Job summary

Lunchtime Solutions, Inc. is seeking a dependable Head Cook for our school food service program at Siouxland Christian Preschool. You will lead daily meal production, follow recipes, and ensure food safety while supporting a warm, student‑focused dining environment.

The position offers a Monday–Friday daytime schedule, with opportunities to train staff, manage inventories, and contribute to nutritious menus. A strong team ethic and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year of cooking experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication skills; ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to follow recipes and convert quantities for large batches.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily food production by preparing meals and following recipes.
• Maintain clean work areas, oversee storage using FIFO, HACCP logs, inventories, and participation tracking.
• Support food safety by monitoring safe practices and maintaining a healthy workspace.
• Assist with ordering, stocking, prep lists, freezer pulls, and serving during meals.
• Help train team members and fill in for other kitchen duties when needed.

Schedule: Monday–Friday 8:30am-1:30pm

Lunchtime Solutions is seeking a dependable, team‑focused Head Cook to join our school food service program. What You’ll Do

• Lead daily food production by preparing high‑quality meals, following recipes, supporting special diets, and helping with catering and serving‑time readiness.
• Keep the kitchen organized and compliant by maintaining clean work areas, overseeing storage organization using FIFO, completing HACCP logs, production records, inventories, and participation tracking.
• Support food safety by monitoring safe practices and maintaining a healthy, compliant workspace.
• Assist with ordering, stocking, prep lists, freezer pulls, and serving during meal times.
• Help train team members and fill in for other kitchen duties when needed.

What You Bring

• HS Diploma or GED Preferred
• 1 year of cooking experience preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform frequent standing, bending, twisting, and other physical tasks.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
