Job summary

Lunchtime Solutions, Inc. is seeking a dependable Head Cook to lead daily food production in our school food service program at Storm Lake area schools. You will prepare nutritious meals, follow recipes, support special diets, and help with catering and serving-time readiness.

This role requires a HS diploma or GED and at least one year of cooking experience, with the ability to lift 50 lbs. You’ll keep kitchens clean, manage inventory, and train teammates while maintaining a safe, compliant

Schedule: Monday–Friday 6:45am-1:45pm

Lunchtime Solutions is seeking a dependable, team‑focused Head Cook to join our school food service program. If you take pride in preparing nutritious and delicious meals, enjoy a positive work environment working with students, and want a schedule that supports work–life balance, this role is a great fit.

What You’ll Do

• Lead daily food production by preparing high‑quality meals, following recipes, supporting special diets, and helping with catering and serving‑time readiness.
• Keep the kitchen organized and compliant by maintaining clean work areas, overseeing storage organization using FIFO, completing HACCP logs, production records, inventories, and participation tracking.
• Support food safety by monitoring safe practices and maintaining a healthy, compliant workspace.
• Assist with ordering, stocking, prep lists, freezer pulls, and serving during meal times.
• Help train team members and fill in for other kitchen duties when needed.

What You Bring

• HS Diploma or GED Preferred
• 1 year of cooking experience preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform frequent standing, bending, twisting, and other physical tasks.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to follow recipes, measure ingredients, and convert quantities for large batches.
• Dependability, integrity, and a commitment to excellent customer service.
