Job summary

Lunchtime Solutions is seeking a dependable Cook for our school food service program at Aberdeen Catholic Schools. This on-site, Monday–Friday daytime role emphasizes nutritious meal prep and a positive school dining experience.

You’ll follow recipes, assist with meal operations, ensure food safety, and maintain a clean kitchen while supporting a collaborative team environment and excellent service. This position offers work–life balance with regular hours, a focus on growth, and a friendly team

Qualifications

• 1 year food service experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform frequent physical tasks.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to follow recipes, measure ingredients, and adapt for large batches.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook high-quality meals by following provided recipes.
• Support daily meal operations, forecast, prepare special diet items, and stock menu items.
• Maintain food safety and compliance with HHFKA guidelines and HACCP records.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and safe using FIFO practices.
• Communicate and collaborate with supervisors, staff, and customers to ensure great service.
• Train new staff and fill in other roles as needed.

Lunchtime Solutions is seeking a dependable, team‑focused Cook to join our school food service program. What You’ll Do

• Prepare and cook high‑quality meals by following provided recipes and ensure everything is ready for scheduled serving times.
• Support daily meal operations by assisting with forecasting, preparing special diet items, helping with special events, and stocking/serving menu items during service.
• Maintain food safety and compliance by following HHFKA serving guidelines, completing HACCP logs and production records, and monitoring participation trends.
• Keep the kitchen running smoothly through regular cleaning, organizing storage areas using FIFO practices, and maintaining a safe, healthy work environment.
• Communicate and collaborate with supervisors, team members, school staff, and customers to ensure smooth operations and great service.
• Contribute to team growth by helping train new staff and filling in in other roles when needed.

What You Bring

• 1 year food service experience preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform frequent standing, bending, twisting, and other physical tasks.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to follow recipes, measure ingredients, and convert quantities for large batches.
