Job summary

Denver Public Schools is seeking coaches to help athletes perform their best individually or as a team across sports such as football, basketball, and soccer. Coaches will teach fundamentals, ensure safety, and coordinate recruitment of student participants.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent; CPR certification is required or obtainable prior to coaching. Teacher certification is preferred, with a focus on equity and support for all students in an urban setting.

Qualifications

• Coaching position requiring ability to teach fundamentals and advanced skills.
• Must be knowledgeable about sports equipment, physical fitness, and safety.
• Experience working with urban youth is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach fundamental and advanced athletic skills to athletes.
• Become an expert on rules, strategies, and techniques for the sport.
• Support coordination and recruitment of student participants.
• Maintain safety and monitor equipment.
