Job summary

Husson University in Bangor, ME, seeks the Head XC and Track and Field coach to lead both the men’s and women’s programs, oversee instruction, recruiting, scheduling, and strength and conditioning. The role demands collaboration with staff and a commitment to scholar‑athlete development.

The candidate should have NCAA Division III experience, strong leadership, and the ability to manage budgets, travel, and intercollegiate facilities while fostering academic success for student‑athletes.

Qualifications

• Three years coaching experience at high school or collegiate level; head coaching preferred.
• Working knowledge of coaching cross country and track and field.
• Ability to create film sessions for individuals and the full team.
• Coaching licenses, certification, and badges preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students on fundamentals and tactics; set goals and provide feedback.
• Develop a comprehensive recruiting plan to attract qualified student-athletes.
• Design and execute a competitive schedule for both programs.
• Monitor strength and conditioning programs for the team.
• Oversee team budgets and fundraising efforts and manage travel arrangements.
• Coordinate practice facilities and working relationships with local entities.
• Support academic progress and monitor NCAA conduct expectations.
