Qualifications

• NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching is a one-time requirement.
• Concussion in Sports is required yearly.
• Heat Illness Prevention training every 4 years.

Responsibilities

• Hold high ethical and professional standards.
• Be an appropriate role model for high school student-athletes.
• Hold high expectations and accountability academically and behaviorally for all student-athletes and coaching staff.
• Develop, articulate, and implement a vision for the program.
• Work cooperatively within an educationally based, school-wide athletic program.
• Lead a comprehensive high school athletic program (preferred).
• Be relationship/process oriented.
• Explain eligibility, tryout, cut processes and lettering rules to athletes and staff.
• Be creative and involved in fundraising for the program.
• Communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
• Advocate for multi-sport athletes.
• Assist in scheduling for the sport with the Athletic Director.
• Be accessible and visible to athletes at all levels.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Athletic Director.
